遊びをせんとや: 日蘭の潜水艦とmini KBが活躍した一日

昭和17年5月28日の夜は潜水艦のお祭りでした。まず、セレベス島のマカッサルからシンガポールにresourceを輸送するTFがSS O-16に襲撃され、xAK Hiyama Maru(VP 10, tonnage 4875)に魚雷が一本命中。xAK Hiyama MaruのダメージはSys 57, Flt58(43), Eng 14, Fire 52もあり、Escort TFに編入されて近くのスラバヤに向かうことになりました。即沈没とならなかったのは幸いですが、炎上中の日本船でこのSysダメージがあっては、距離5ヘクスを無事に乗り切れるとは思えませんね。

つぎに、オーストラリアのブリスベン東でI-7がAO Kanawha(VP 18, tonnage 6950)が雷撃して魚雷が2本命中。この船も即沈没とはなりませんでしたが、コンバットアニメーションの中でfuel cargo burningと報告されていたので、その後のリプレイ中に聴かれた沈没音はこの船のものだと思われます。そして、インド西岸のカリカット沖でI-27がコンボイを襲撃して、xAK Hatterlocに魚雷一本、xAK Birminghan Cityに魚雷2本命中。xAK Birminghan City(VP 9, tonnage 4620)の方は沈没したようです。

最後に、バリクパパンからトラックにfuelを輸送するコンボイがSS KXに攻撃され、TK Hakko Maru(VP 18, tonnage 7150)に魚雷が一本命中。空荷なら魚雷一本で沈むことはないのでしょうが、このタンカーもfuel cargo burningになってしまって沈没しました。今日は日蘭の潜水艦が活躍しました。

現在のビルマはSSでご覧いただけるような状況で、連合軍側で戦闘機の集中している主な飛行場はチッタゴンとインパールです。陸戦はビルマ北部ではShweboの占領後、ミートキーナに向けて進軍中で、これは進軍に時間がかかることを除けば、問題はないと思っています。ビルマ・雲南戦線ではすでにラシオは確保しました。できればPaoshan(保山)、そしてTsuyungまで解放できればと希望を持ちながら、3個師団が進軍中です。ただし連合軍もこの動きには注意を払っているようで、毎日のように偵察機が頭上に飛来しています。こちらの兵力の規模をみて、Paoshanにさらに増援を送り込むでしょうが、お互いにＰaoshanへは山道の進軍なので、どっちが早いかですね。

海岸道を進軍した3個聯隊はアキャブに迫っています。アキャブには連合軍の飛行機マークがついていますが、airfield damgeがずっと57のままですし、いまのところ出撃できる機体はないようです。でも、アキャブ飛行場が元気に活動するようになるとラングーンまで距離8ヘクスと近いので、ラングーンへ海路でサプライを輸送することが困難になり、やがてビルマの日本軍はサプライ不足でビルマからたたき出されることになります。なんとかアキャブを解放したいのですが、アキャブには254th Armoured Brigadeと50th Tank Brigadeと2つの戦車旅団が駐屯しています。AFV 156両ももつ相手にジャングルヘクスで戦闘して勝つにはどのくらいの戦力が必要なんでしょうか。どうもやれる気がしません。でも、連合軍から見るとこの部隊もうるさく見えるようで、今日もチッタゴン(カルカッタかも)からFB・LB合計64機で爆撃してきました。死傷者53名、歩兵3分隊と後方の4分隊がdisabledになりました。

アキャブをなんとかするには、まずがっちり航空優勢を握って、アキャブを爆撃なり艦砲射撃なりで叩かなければなりません。しかし、これまでビルマの日本軍はサプライが不足していて、Magweにもずっと黄色い”！”がついていました。黄色い”！”だと、戦闘機が増槽を装備することができません。増槽なしだと、隼は6ヘクスしか飛べず、Magweからだとチッタゴンには届いても、インパールには届かない状況でした。航空撃滅戦は両方を叩けるようになってからと思っていましたが、ようやくMagweのサプライ事情が改善したので、今日はチッタゴンの飛行場に初の爆撃を実施してみました。これまでゼロ戦を使ったsweepを繰り返して、連合軍はかなり戦闘機を失ったからでしょう、このところCAPを上げなくなっています。九七重爆 44機と百式重爆 16機に50機の一式戦が護衛についてチッタゴン飛行場を爆撃して、Airbase hits 15、Airbase supply hits 2、Runway hits 32の戦果でした。連合軍の対空砲は日本のものとは違って優秀なので、高度9000フィートからの爆撃でも、九七重爆が11機もdamagedになりました。このくらいの爆撃を数日続けることができれば、規模7のチッタゴン飛行場も活動不能においこめると思いますが、明日は多数の戦闘機がCAPについているかな？

そして、今日のデザートはmini KB(龍驤、祥鳳、瑞鳳)の活躍。給油艦TFをひきつれて、オーストラリアのはるか西、マップ南西端の近くまで遠征していたmini KBですが、ようやく連合軍コンボイを発見することができました。午前と午後と2波の合計で九七艦攻 58機と九九艦爆 12機が出撃し、xAKを6隻(4隻はVP 15、tonnage 7550で残り2隻はVP 8、tonnage 4220)撃沈、5隻が大破炎上中の戦果をあげることができました。残念なのはこのコンボイが西行きだったことです。東に向けて航行しているコンボイでタンカーが含まれているようなら大成功だったんですけどね。ここは素直に設定したケープタウン・パース航路よりは4ヘクス南、ケープタウン・シドニー航路よりは18ヘクス北です。おそらくパースからケープタウンに向かうコンボイで潜水艦の襲撃を避けるためにWaypointを設定したのでしょう。しかし天網恢々疎にしてもらさずでした。今日の攻撃後もまだ商船が10隻も残っていると報告されているので、明日も攻撃できればいいなと思います。

陸戦では、修正AV 682対862でClark Fieldの攻撃に失敗。5月中の攻略はむりな感じ。死傷者は日本側1056名、連合軍側1505名と連合軍側の方が多くなってきているので、時間が解決してくれるのは確かなんですが。フィリピン平定は史実よりかなり遅れそうです。
