WitP AEでもやはり真珠湾攻撃には関心が集まるようで、戦果に関するスレがこれまでにいくつも立てられています。最近のこのThe perfect PH Raidというスレでは、8隻ものBB撃沈の戦果をあげたことが報告されています。それに対して、Pearl harbor torpedo free!というスレで紹介された例ではBBの撃沈が0隻でした。
Historical First TurnとDecember 7th Surpriseがともにyesという同じ設定でもこういう風に戦果が大きく異なるのは、もちろんFoWも影響しているのでしょう。しかし主にはB5N2 Kateの武装が何なのかが効いているようで、雷装した機体の数が多いとより多くの戦艦を撃沈できる感じです。これに関しては、Pearl harbor torpedo free!というスレでDevの人が
港の攻撃の際に雷撃機が爆装するか雷装するかについては、たくさんの乱数のチェックがある。真珠湾攻撃では雷装を選択しやすくなってはいるが、必ず雷装するとは限らない。真珠湾でも800kg爆弾を搭載する九七艦攻があるし、もっとも熟練したパイロットだけが雷装する。
と発言していました。たしか、数十年前に観たトラ・トラ・トラ！でも、浅い真珠湾用に改良した魚雷が完成したのはかなり遅く、一隻の空母が出航を遅らせて単冠湾で改良魚雷の到着を待ち、その後は急いで機動部隊に合流したというようなエピソードがあったような覚えがあります。改良型の魚雷の数を充分に用意できなかったということと、岸壁に戦艦が2列に並んで停泊しているでの内側の戦艦を攻撃するために爆装した機があったという史実を反映して、全機が雷装させない仕様にしたのでしょう。
うちの真珠湾攻撃は、Historical First TurnとDecember 7th Surpriseがともにyesになっている設定で、こんな感じでした。日本側はflakにより3機のA6M2 Zeroの損失のみで、5隻のBBの撃沈、 4隻のBBの大破、14機のPBY-5 Catalinaの地上破壊など、かなり良い方の戦果をあげることができました。これも、攻撃に参加した144機のB5N2 Kateのうちの72機が雷撃、18機が800kg爆弾、54機が250lg爆弾2発を搭載と、雷撃の割合が多かったからだと思います。250kg爆弾も戦艦以外には効果があるんでしょうし。
