昭和17年2月2日、マカッサル海峡でTK Samui MaruがSS KVIIに雷撃され沈みました。日本支配下の油田でいまいちばん大きいのはバリクパパンです。ここのfuelが蘭印東部でのIJNの活動を支えているので、積み取りに行かないわけにもいきません。危険海域なので1250トン積みのタンカーを向かわせています。fuel満載ではなく空のタンカーでしたが、やはり小さいと魚雷一本で沈没してしまいますね。今日のマカッサル海峡では、xAK Ohio MaruもSS KVIIIに攻撃され魚雷が一本命中しています。
1月31日にニューギニア島西岸でTK Mitu MaruとPB Ryusei Maruを沈めた重巡3隻と軽巡3隻のTFですが、2月1日にアンボンを艦砲射撃して南に移動していました。その後はトレス海峡経由でオーストラリア東部に戻るのかと予想しました。艦砲射撃後は弾薬がかなり減っているはずなので、迎え撃ってやろうと考え重巡4隻と軽巡2隻をトラックからニューギニア東南岸へ向かわせました。ところが、今日はダーウィン港に停泊しているという報告です。クーパンに雷撃可能な陸攻隊がいることは知っているはずですし、ダーウィンの飛行場は使用不能でCAPを期待できません。私には考えつかない大胆不敵な行動でほんとに驚きました。早速九六陸攻が10機攻撃に向かいましたが、魚雷は一発も命中せず。10機しか飛んでくれなかったのが残念ですが、相手の方のヨミの方が正しかったようです。
オーストラリア西岸には、1月31日にパース港攻撃をしたHa-6を搭載して帰投中のI-16と、2月1日に爆雷攻撃でSysとFltに10台のダメージを受けて帰投中のI-162がいます。この2隻が連合軍TFと合計3回戦闘しました。魚雷も爆雷もすべてはずれでしたが、気になったのは戦闘画面後に表示されるリポートに駆逐艦の名前が5つ6つと載せられていたことです。ASW TFなら最大で4隻ですから、ASW TFではないことがわかります。いったいなにかと思ってリプレイ終了後に確認すると、合計でCV9隻をふくんだ4つのTFの存在が報告されていました。9隻全部がCVではなくて、一部はCVLなのかもしれませんが、連合軍空母の所在はこれまで全く不明だっただけに、まとめての出現にはびっくり。連合軍としても、こんなところでみつかるとは思わなかったでしょうね
この空母を含んだTFは何を意図しているんでしょうか。艦砲射撃とクーパンからの爆撃でダーウィン飛行場の使用不能状態が続いています。飛行場が使用不能だと、サプライやLCUをダーウインへ海上輸送することが困難です。LCUは地上を行軍してダーウィンに行くことができますが、サプライは海上輸送する必要があります。クーパンがしっかりしているとダーウィンへ輸送船を送ることは危険なので、クーパンを叩くつもりでしょうか。それ呼応するつもりでダーウィンに重巡・軽巡をとどめているのかも知れません。
これが一番ありそうなシナリオですが、こちらのLBAと陸上基地の戦闘機の勢力圏内での空母戦になるなら大歓迎です。でも、お相手の方の発想は私の考え方とはかなり違うことが経験上あきらかなので、そうなるのかどうかは分かりません。いずれにせよ現在の機動部隊は燃料がかなり不足し、加賀の残存魚雷は搭載九七艦攻の機体数より少なくなってしまっているので、まずは補充を急がないと。

空母9隻の集中運用とはすごいですね。
AI相手ではここまで規模の大きい空母艦隊はお目にかかれません。
もし空母戦が起これば、まさに決戦になりそうですね。
連合艦隊司令部としては、急遽赤城を回航させ、対応するのでしょうか。今後の展開を楽しみにしています。
