ポートモレスビー夜間空襲の再開と、ルーガンビルでの失敗

昭和18年2月14日は、良くないことばかり。まずはポートモレスビーに夜間空襲がありました。一機だけB-25C Mitchellが爆撃しに来たわけですが、こちらのCAPの状況などの様子見なのかも知れません。12月13日以来夜間空襲がなかったので、Ki-45 KAIa Nickは訓練していて、CAPは上げていませんでした。以前のB-17はポートモレスビーから14ヘクスのTownsvilleから出撃して爆撃に来ていました。しかし、このB-25C Mitchellはポートモレスビーから9ヘクスのCooktownからのようです。昨日までこのCooktownには戦闘機しかいなかったのですが、今日はご覧の通り、81の爆撃機がいると報告されました。これからポートモレスビーは叩かれ続けることになりそうです。

マラッカ海峡の北側でDD ShirakumoがSS KXVIIIに雷撃されました。即沈没にはなりませんでしたが、Sys 40, Fld 79(55), Eng 1(0), Fire 1と浸水の被害が大きく、Sysダメージが40もあるのでシンガポールまで行くのはちょっと心配。距離2ヘクスのプーケットに入港させて、まずはSysダメージを減らそうと思います。AR Yamabiko Maruがバリクパパンにいるので、連れてこようと思います。でも、バリクパパン周辺にも連合軍SSが多いのでみつからないといいのですが。

今日もラシオには、戦闘機10機と爆撃機195機の爆撃がありました。今のところはすべて飛行場爆撃で、Airbase hits 32、Airbase supply hits 7、Runway hits 364の被害です。昨日に比較してサプライの量が488トン減り、在庫は15738トンになりました。1ヶ月続くと干上がりそう。

ルンガにいたKi-49-IIa Helenが設定のミスでルーガンビルに空襲に行ってしまいました。Santa Cruz諸島に連合軍TFが現れたら爆撃をと思ってNaval Attackにしてありました。でも、CAPのいるルーガンビルやVanua Lavaまでは行かないように、Maximum Rangeを11にしてあったはずなのですが、設定をいじった時に13になってしまい11に戻し忘れていたようです。コンバットリポートには6機撃墜となっていますが、帰り道で墜落したのもあわせると10機の損失のようです。KIA 3名、MIA 7名とパイロットの被害も多数。そして、Helenとco-ordinateできずに、先に護衛のA6M2だけでルーガンビルに突撃してしまいました。高度11000でsweepしたみたいなことになり、CAPのF4F-4 WildcatとF4U-1 Corsairの合計40機に叩かれて、KIA 6名、MIA 3名とやはり多数の戦死者がでました。相手の人は今日のリプレイをみて、何をするつもりだったのかと疑問に思うに違いありません。

今日のリプレイの最後に、アバダン・カラチ航路でSS I-27がML No. 247を撃沈しました。Faimile B級(tnnage 86)の小さな小さな船ですが、今日唯一の戦果です。

ラシオへの大きな空襲

昭和18年2月13日、偵察や爆撃を繰り返したためか、ラシオに向かっている中国軍が9部隊の人員が25260名と、昨日の2倍以上と報告されました。残念ながらラシオから東の三叉路のヘクスに行く作戦は無理です。ここは地形ボーナス3倍のJungle+Roughのせいか、Helen 37機の爆撃で31名しか死傷者が出ませんでした。あいかわらず、ゼロ戦とのco-ordinateは全然ダメ。

連合軍側はラシオ攻略にかなり本気になっているのか、今日はラシオにとても大きな空襲がありました。日本側がCAPを上げていないことは織り込み済みなので、戦闘機はP-38G Lightningが14機参加しただけでしたが、爆撃機は合計で187機(Wellington Ic x 38、B-25C Mitchell x 28、Liberator II x 27、B-17E Fortress x 42、B-17F Fortress x 28、B-24D Liberator x 24)の大空襲でした。

被害は、Airbase hits 28、Airbase supply hits 21、Runway hits 242で、飛行場の機能を停止させることが目的なら、過剰な戦力の投入ぐらいの被害でした。また、駐機してあったKi-46-II Dinahが3機地上で破壊されました。パイロットの被害もWIA 1名で、この81st Sentaiはラングーンに避難させて再建することにしました。

このところ、ラシオは平常だと一日にサプライを45トン程度消費していましたが、昨日から今日にかけては1021トン減少しました。500 lb爆弾一発のサプライ破壊量を125トンとすると、21発の命中で2625トンになるので、それよりはかなり少なめ。ちょうど、シンガポール方面からサプライが送られてくる日で、少なめに見えているのかも知れません。

ビルマ方面では、このところしばらく本格的な空襲がありませんでした。これからラシオへ連日の爆撃キャンペーンを始めるために四発爆撃機部隊を休養させていたのかも知れません。もしそうなら、爆撃によってラシオをはじめビルマが干上がってしまわないように、シンガポール、ラングーン、モールメンにせっせとサプライを運び込まないといけませんね。

Santa CruzのVanikoroに連合軍揚陸中らしい

 2月7日にSanta Cruz諸島に向かうように見えていた上陸用舟艇のTFはVanua Lavaに飛行場建設用の部隊を運んでいたようで、2月11日に日Vanua Lava飛行場が規模1になりました。そして

昭和18年2月12日にはVanikoroのヘクスに上陸用舟艇のTFが見えます。もう一つ、すでに荷下ろしして南に帰るTFも見えます。今度はここに飛行場建設用の部隊を運び込んでいるのでしょう。

昨日はツラギからG4M1 BettyをVanua Lavaの飛行場の夜間爆撃に送りましたが、31機で爆撃してRunaway hits 2とほとんどダメージを与えることができませんでした。G4M1 Bettyを昼間の地上目標の爆撃に送るのはA6M2の護衛があってもかなりの損害を覚悟しなければいけないので、ためらうところ。かといって、Ki-49-IIa Sallyはゼロ戦とのco-ordinationに大きな不安があります。こうやって一つずつ北側に飛行場を建設していかれても、手をこまねいてみているしかない、とても困った状況です。

ビルマ・中国国境にも動きがありました。Paoshanから中国軍部隊がLashioに向けて移動しているのが11日、発見されました。Lashioの Fortificationは4(5に向けて68%)ですが、戦闘部隊が55th Cavalry Regiment(AV 23)しかいないので、一万人近い中国軍相手にもちこたえる自信がありません。増援を送るとともに、ラングーンからの爆撃を始めました。ペグーのA6M2を護衛に付けたつもりなのですが、Helenとゼロ戦はなかなか協調してくれません。

中国軍の目的はLashio攻略ではなく、Lashio東の三叉路のヘクスを中国軍支配下に置くことなのではないかとも思われます。というのも、Myitkyinaへの主なサプライの輸送路の一つがこのLashio・Myitkina間の道路のようなので。それを拒むには三叉路のヘクスに日本の部隊を移動させ、中国軍に先着しなければいけません。爆撃しながら相手をcombat modeにさせれば、先着できるかどうか、明日から試してみようかなと思います。
