昭和18年1月28日、昨日雷撃されたxAK Eli Maruが沈みました。そして、豊原から稚内へresorceを輸送中のxAKL Hukko MaruがSS S-31に雷撃され、そのまま沈みました。潜水艦による被害続出で、史実のようになりつつあります。また、ビルマでも昨日に続いて空襲を受けています。このままだと士気に関わると考え、中国戦線で重慶爆撃を敢行しました。
先月に一回sweepをかけたことがあるくらいで、これまで重慶に爆撃を行ったことはありません。今日は、桂林、安康、漢口からsweepの戦闘機、漢口、西安、開封、焦作(Tsiaotso)から爆撃機と護衛戦闘機が出動しました。在支陸軍飛行隊の大部分が参加し海軍航空隊からA6M3の応援を得て、合計戦闘機186機と爆撃機144機によるsweep7波と爆撃4波の攻撃になりました。重慶にはレーダーがないようで、またCAPも上がっていませんでした。戦果は敵機の地上撃破28機とAirbase hits 35, Airbase supply hits 3, Runway hits 121で、偵察によると飛行場のダメージ47%と報告されています。しかも、6000フィートからの爆撃で一機も犠牲が出なかったのも良い報せでした。
現在の中国戦線での日本の占領地域は紫色のラインの東・南側で、これ以上の進攻は不可能だと判断しています。多くの地域は平穏なのですが、西安北西2ヘクスの地点に16万7千名、南陽西2ヘクスの地点に20万名の中国軍部隊が集結しています。これらの大軍に日本の占領地域内部にまで侵入されると困るので、こちらもある程度の兵力を貼り付けておかなければなりません。しかし、そろそろこれらの歩兵部隊を防御任務から解放して、南方へ移動させる時期に来ていると思っています。ただ、兵数的には日本側がずっと少ないので、爆撃で叩きながらなんとか対峙しているのが現状です。
これらの中国軍を支えるサプライは、中国国内での生産だけでは足りないはずで、Ledoから中国へ、おそらく成都へC-47などの輸送機で送られてきているものと思われます。できれば元から絶つためにLedoを爆撃で叩きたいのですが、連合軍もそれは困るとみえて、Ledoへの爆撃を可能なビルマ北部中部の日本側飛行場を爆撃で使用不能にし続けているのがビルマ戦線の現状です。元から絶つことが無理なので、輸送されてきたサプライを地上で破壊する、対空戦闘で消費させることが重慶爆撃で達成できたらなと期待して、これからしばらく爆撃を続けたいと思います。将来的には、成都も爆撃したいものですが、遠いから難しいかな。
今日のSIGINTで、パールハーバーにHeavy Volume of Radio transmissions detectedが2回報告されました。DLが2/1になったので、パールハーバーにいる兵力をかいま見ることができました。
在泊艦船は40隻となっていて、確認されたのはxAK2隻とAM1隻とSS2隻。CVがいるかどうかまで分かれば最高なんですけどね。
