昭和18年4月10日、昨日はお休みだったビルマでの陸戦ですが、今日はミートキーナとバーモの両方で攻撃が再開されました。
まずは空から。バーモには連合軍戦闘機が3波のsweep。次いで、41機のKi-49-IIa Helenが77th Chindit Brigadeを爆撃して死傷者29名(Squads: 4 disabled, Non Combat: 2 disabled)。その次に連合軍の四発爆撃機101機が3波にわたって来襲し、横須賀第三特別陸戦隊に死傷者103名(Squads: 1 destroyed, 12 disabled, Non Combat: 12 disabled)の犠牲が出ました。バーモはジャングルのヘクスなので空爆による被害は少ないはずですが、合計101機の四発爆撃機が858発の500ポンド爆弾を投下していった数の威力と、日本側にfortificationがなかったことが被害を大きくしていると思われます。日本側のHelenは164発の250kg爆弾しか投下しなかったので、77th Chindit Brigadeに与えた死傷者数が横須賀第三特別陸戦隊の死傷者の約4分の1なのは妥当なところ。
今日のバーモでの陸戦は連合軍によるdeliberate attackでした。連合軍は77th Chindit Brigadeを引き続き空輸して来ているようで一昨日の1006名から2155名に増えていました。日本側も648名から707名に増えたのですが、これはラシオから歩いて来た39th Road Const Coがちょうど到着したからで、戦闘部隊の兵員数は全く増えていません。move modeで到着した39th Road Const Coが戦闘に参加したため、防御側のCombat modifiersにop mode(-), experience(-)がついてしまいました。このop mode(-)というCombat modifierは、移動して来た39th Road Const Coだけに適用されるのか、それとも横須賀第三特別陸戦隊にも適用されてしまうのでしょうか？一刻も早く工兵を到着させたかったのでmove modeにしてあったのですが、もし横須賀第三特別陸戦隊にもop mode(-)の悪影響がおよぶようなら、前日の段階でcombat modeに変更しておくべきだったのかもしれません。ただし、この戦闘時にはfort level 0ですが、工兵が到着したおかげでこの戦闘後にバーモのfort levelは1になりました。ドットベースだと滑走路を爆撃で破壊されることがないので、fortification増強を空襲で邪魔されにくいのが利点ですね。いちおう今日はバーモ防衛に成功しましたが、明日以降は危うい感じ。仕方がないので、ラシオから一個師団をバーモに向けて行軍させ始めましたが、trailを3ヘクス分の距離歩いて移動するので間に合うのかどうか。
ミートキーナでも陸戦がありました。今日は連合軍側の修正AV値 1316に対して日本側は421しかなく、オッズ3対1となってfort levelが1低くされて3になりました。また、連合軍側の死傷者82名(Squads: 1 destroyed, 15 disabled, Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 19 disabled, Engineers: 0 destroyed, 2 disabled)に対して、日本側は死傷者458名(Squads: 3 destroyed, 18 disabled, Non Combat: 10 destroyed, 37 disabled)と多数の犠牲が出ています。次かその次の陸戦での陥落は免れないでしょう。
