coordinationを確保するためには、爆撃機と護衛戦闘機の飛行高度を同一にすることのほかに、部隊同士が同じHQに所属させた方がいいとか、飛行場にHQが存在した方がいいとかいろいろな策があるようで、The War RoomのスティッキーになっているThe Air Mission Coordination Guide v2!というスレに紹介されています。
それによると、爆撃より前にSweepを行わせるには、爆撃とSweepの高度も同一に設定しないとダメなのだそうです。でも、実用的にそれは無理。なので、その代わりとして、爆撃部隊のprimary missionをNaval Atackにしておいて、本当の目標のAirfield AttackやPort Attackをsecondary missionに設定しています。こうすると、Sweepは午前中に、爆撃は午後に行われて、いちおうSweep先行が実現するからです。
そんな風に工夫した、ある日のLedo爆撃。ゼロ戦と隼でSweepさせてます。ゼロ戦が二つに分かれちゃったことは数が多いからしかたないかも。でも、CAPがいないのが確認できて一安心と思っていました。
ところが、午後の爆撃部隊はハリケーンに迎撃されています。訓練中のNo.135 Sqn RAF所属のハリケーンなのだとか。Sweepの部隊は見逃して、爆撃機部隊に対しては訓練中の部隊も迎撃に向かうとは、WitP AEの空戦のエンジンはかなり凝ってますね。
戦闘機にCAPではなく訓練任務を与えてSweepをかわすのは、日本が劣勢になって来た時にも連合軍からのSweepに対する対策としてつかえるのかな??
