CV龍驤と祥鳳を中心としたair combat TFが昭和18年1月9日にシンガポールを出港しました。インド洋の通商破壊目的です。マップ南東端のあたりを徘徊していたのですが、今回はまったく商船に出会いませんでした。帰港しようかなと思っていた1月25日、パースに連合軍のBBなどが停泊していることが報告されました。帰る前にパースを空襲できればいいなと思って、オーストラリア方向へ進路をとったのですが、1月31日に発見されてしまいました。
パースまであと10ヘクスの距離で、港を空襲するにはあと半日は近づかなければなりません。どうしようか迷いましたが、このまま逃げることにしました。理由の一つは、パースに配備されている戦闘機の数が一週間前の17機から今日は51機に増えていること。なんどか偵察したので、連合軍も危険な気配を察知したのかと思われます。こちらのゼロ戦は27機しかないので、かなりの数の艦載機の損失を覚悟しなければならず、戦果も必ずしも約束されてはいません。そしてもう一つの理由は、はじめての空母の喪失というエントリーで紹介しましたが、昭和17年2月12に同じようなパターンで強行して水上砲戦となり、CV瑞鳳を沈められていることです。前回はCAとCL各一隻だけが相手だったのに、今回はBBもいるようですから、無理かなと感じました。replenish TFの燃料残もかなり少なくなったのでおとなしく帰ることにします。
重慶爆撃ですが、今日は悪天候で爆撃機が参加できず、17機のA6M3と8機のKi-44-IIa Tojoという少数機でsweepだけ行うことになってしまいました。CAPには中国軍機だけでなく、Hurricane IIc TropやP-38G Lightningが含まれていました。本腰を入れて重慶を守るつもりのようですが、中国では日本の方が有利に戦えると思うので、望むところ。Hurricane IIc TropやP-38G Lightningが単なるCAPなのかどこかほかの飛行場からLRCAPに来ているのか調べて、地上で破壊したいですね。
Trackerをみると、スコアは7機のA6M3と3機のKi-44-IIa Tojoの損失で連合軍は戦闘機11機の損失と今日は苦戦でした。ゼロ戦の方が二式戦より多くの損失を出しています。ゼロ戦A6M2だけでなくA6M3もsweepで良い結果が出ず、対戦闘機戦闘に関しては二式戦の方がずっと成績優秀に感じます。戦闘機パイロットのexpやスキルは海軍の方が上なのですが、やはり速度性能が効いているんでしょう。ゼロ戦は長い航続距離という長所を生かして、対艦戦闘時につかうべきものなんでしょうね。A6M3を装備できる陸上基地の海軍戦闘機隊も昭和18年9月に雷電が生産可能になるまで、訓練に専念した方が良さそうです。

スリリングですね。
軽機動部隊の行動は冒険的で楽しいです。
画面を見ると、パースの南方にいるようです。
シンガポールからインド洋に向かって、パース攻撃の目的でこの位置に展開というのはちょっと不合理な感じです。どういうことんでしょうか？
もっと、北方にあってしかるべきではないかと思いますけど。
陽動作戦としては、相手方に混乱を与えたとして利点はあったのでしょうね。
わが航空部隊の損失のただならぬ点は、リアルな感じがします。
双方の大機動部隊の激突はいつになったら生起するのでしょうか…

このTFは当初はケープタウンからシドニーやニュージーランドに行く商船を攻撃させるつもりだったので、マップのもっと南西の方でパトロールしていました。パースに連合軍BBを発見してからパース方向に移動させましたが、北側より南側から接近した方が発見されにくいかと思って、この位置に来ました。でも、search arcのバグ問題があって全周を哨戒させているでしょうから、あまり意味がなかったかもしれません。
本格的な空母決戦は、連合軍が大規模な上陸作戦を敢行する時までおあずけのようです。慎重な人なので、エセックス級が多数竣工してからになるのかも。
