ダーウィン攻略を考える上でパースの状況を知っておきたかったのと、紀元節のお祝いも兼ねて、Mini KBにパースの空襲を行わせてみました。パースの近くにASW TFが複数いたので、パースの空襲は実行されず、2月12日には近くのASW TFの小艦艇を何隻か沈めただけ。これだけだと戦果に不満だったし、パース港には艦船が停泊しているマークがあったので、パースの近くを遊弋させて翌日も空襲を行わせよう、などと甘い考えでいたら、連合軍の手厳しい反撃が。
CA、CLの2隻で突撃されて、瑞鳳が集中的に攻撃されてしまい、あえなく沈没。こっちの方が隻数が多いので、DDが捨て身でCVEを守ったりしてほしかったかもですが、Air Combat TFがSurface Combat TFと鉢合わせすると、CVが集中攻撃されちゃうという教訓を学びました。
2日前に翔鳳が横須賀に到着して、Mini KBを4隻体制にできるなと思っていた矢先の出来事だけにショック。本当に高い授業料でした。
