昭和17年12月18日、今日も中国の柳州で中国軍のShock Attackがありました。オッズ比14対1の劣勢なのですが、日本軍部隊はやはり撤退してくれません。柳州ヘクスの6つのヘクスサイドのうち東側は赤い色、つまり日本側が支配しているので、柳州から東側のヘクスに撤退することは可能なはずです。それなのに劣勢な戦闘を続けながら撤退してくれないのは困ったことです。
1st Ind.Inf.Group Wiped Out at Liuchow by attrition!!!
Japanese Unit(s) surrounded at Liuchow今日のコンバットリポートにはこんな風に柳州で包囲されていると書かれています。東側のヘクスに中国軍部隊がいるから撤退できないのかな？撤退する先はサプライが輸送されてくるルートだというのを読んだ記憶があります。この東側のヘクスには中国軍がいて、サプライがここを通過できないから、ヘクスサイドを保持していても撤退できないということでしょうか？？よく分かりません。ここ数日は戦闘によりdeviceではなくLCU自体が破壊されてしまうことを心配してきました。さいわいこれまでに破壊されたLCUはなく、今日も戦闘によるLCUの破壊は起きませんでした。しかし戦闘後に消耗により部隊が四散してしまったという報告がありました。しかも、第6師団、第116師団、第66歩兵聯隊、第87歩兵聯隊、第102歩兵聯隊、第1独立歩兵団、第19独立混成旅団の7つもいっぺんに。LCUの喪失は地味ではありますが、これだけ多いと複数の空母の沈没に匹敵する損害だと思います。
LCUは空母と違って、PPを支払うと21日から36日後に東京に復活・出現させることができます。今日四散してしまった7つのLCUの復活に必要なPPはご覧の通り22～3ポイントで、まあリーズナブルなお値段ではあります。でも、復活時の部隊の充足度は完全充足状態の1~2%前後ですから、本土のようにサプライ状況の良い地域に駐屯させたとしても、再建にはかなりの時間がかかります。また所属するHQは元のHQのままで、これら7つのLCUはrestrictedのHQ所属なので、東京で復活したものを輸送船で中国や南方に送るには、restrictedでないHQに所属替えさせる必要があり、その際にもPPを消費することになります。こういった事情はありますが、中国戦線にしても南方にしても、自由につかえるLCUはいくらあっても無駄にはならないと思うので、まずは7つのうちの2個師団を復活させることにしました。
ニューギニア戦線ではラエが陥落しました。しばらく前からWauの米軍部隊が東進していて、今日ラエのヘクスに到達しましたが、Wau・ラエ間には河川があるので、渡河時の強制Shock Attackとなります。ラエにいた部隊はサプライ不足で弱体化していたのに対し、米軍は3個師団に加えていろいろ引き連れていましたから、オッズ比56対1の鎧袖一触で敗北です。柳州とは違って敗北した部隊はすべて北西のNadzapに撤退しました。米軍はこのあとどうするつもりでしょうか。きっと西へ、Nadzabに向かうんでしょうね。
ニューギニア東部にサプライを輸送するのに、輸送船をつかうことはかなり前に断念しました。多少は輸送できますが、一回限りの使い捨てになってしまう可能性が非常に高いからです。そのかわりに、ニューギニア島北岸中部のホーランディアとその東隣のVanimoからマダンへ、ラバウルとショートランドからフィンシュハーフェンへ輸送機で空輸しています。わざわざショートランドなんていう遠くから空輸しているのは、一つのカゴにすべての卵を盛っちゃうことが心配だからです。この方面の連合軍の総力を結集した大規模な空襲があると、CAPがしっかりしているるラバウルでも、爆撃によって一挙に多数機が破壊・使用不能になってしまうと思うのです。マダンやNadzapには赤い！アイコンがついていますが、フィンシュハーフェンにはついていません。フィンシュハーフェンからはサプライが流れ出しにくいのかもしれません。地形とヘクスの配置の様子から、ラエを失うと、フィンシュハーフェンからNadzapへのサプライの流れはさらに悪化しそうな気がします。これまでフィンシュハーフェンに空輸していた部隊もマダンへ向かうように指示しなおしました。
今日のプレイ中、WItP AEが落ちました。むかしむかし、入院する前だから二年半以上前にはしょっちゅう落ちていました。おかげでこまめにセーブする癖がついていて、今日突然に落ちても大きな被害はありませんでした。いつからか、まったく落ちない、安定した状態が続いていたので、今日のできごとは2年ぶりくらいかも知れません。うちではウインドウモードにして、隣りのディスプレイでブラウザやTrackerなど立ち上げ、行ったり来たりしながらプレイしているので、落ちる原因はWitP AE自体にではなく、そっちの方にあるんでしょう。
