DevのMichaelさんに送ったファイルには異常が検出されなかったそうです。exeのバージョンが違っていれば、それを警告するメッセージが出るそうで、そういう問題でもないそうです。原因は不明ですが矛盾を起こさないファイルが入手できたのでPBEM再開となりました。
昭和17年12月6日、BB武蔵・霧島・榛名とCA筑摩・磐城(RA mod独自の利根型重巡)がウエーク島を艦砲射撃しました。心配していた触雷やPTボートの攻撃はなく、無事に南鳥島に向けて帰投中です。南鳥島にはAOとAKEを派遣したので、必要があればBB榛名と重巡にはもう一回、艦砲射撃をしてもらうかも知れません。BB霧島は触雷によるダメージの修理のため、またBB武蔵は弾薬補充できるほどのAKEが存在しないので、ともに本土に向かうことになります。今回の艦砲射撃ではAirbase hits 21、Airbase supply hits 7、Runway hits 47、Port hits 1の命中弾を得ました。驚いたのは飛行機の被害数の報告です。

今日の偵察機の報告によると、ウエーク島にはぜんぶで11機しかいないことになっていましたし、 F4Fがウエーク島に200機以上いるなんてありえないと思います。ウエーク島にはかなり濃密な霧がかかっていたんでしょうね。それと地上部隊の死傷者は493名で、

と報告されていました。図には載せていませんが、ウエーク島にいる地上部隊は総計で3800人ほどと報告されています。その規模だと、かなり大雑把にみて、device数は200くらいでしょうか。上記の報告で触れられているdevice数を合計すると179になります。飛行機の損害数の報告がFoWがらみとはいえとてつもない数字でしたから、この地上部隊のdeviceの損害の数字にどの程度の信を置いていいのか、いまひとつ不安ではあります。でも仮にかなり正しい数字なのだとするとウエーク島に駐屯している地上部隊のdeviceの9割くらいがdestroyedまたはdisabledになって、戦力を発揮できない状態ということになります。またdeviceの中でもSquadsの損害数が非常に少ないので、ウエーク島に駐屯している部隊が戦闘部隊ではないことは確実です。
ほぼ全滅にちかい非戦闘部隊しか駐屯していないウエーク島。連合軍側の無傷の正規空母はおそらく0でウエーク島周辺の制海権は日本のもの。こういう状況判断のもと、ウエーク島奪還作戦を発動することとしました。11月24日のウエーク島失陥により急遽南鳥島を増援しなければならなくなったと判断して、呉から海軍特別陸戦隊2個を載せたAmphib TFを送り出してありました。まっすぐ南鳥島に向かう予定でしたが、いったん後退したかに見えた連合軍の空母がウエーク島周辺に戻ってきたことを受けて、南西に待避させました。ウエーク島周辺の制海権を日本が掌握した現在、そのAmphib TFはエニウェトク環礁の西8ヘクスのところにいます。エニウェトクの南西5ヘクスには、クエゼリンでサプライを搭載し、やはり連合軍空母から待避していたサプライ配給用のTFがいます。この2つに、サイパンを出航してウエーク島に向かいつつあるDMSと、昨晩艦砲射撃を実施したBB榛名、CA筑摩・磐城を組み合わせればまあまあ立派な上陸船団になります。これで足りなければ、ウエーク島の北東にBB金剛・比叡が連合軍に気付かれずにパトロールしているので、支援させるつもりです。唯一気がかりなのは海軍特別陸戦隊2個と上陸部隊が弱体なこと。今日チェックしたところでは、dsiruption 2, fatigue 2と海上輸送による影響は余りみられませんが、2個合計で兵員1500名ほどですから、ウエーク島の敵地上兵力がほぼ戦力0になってないと、atoll上陸後の shock attackに失敗することになってしまうでしょう。なので、艦砲射撃・上陸準備射撃が重要になりそうです。
昼になってからクエゼリンの二式大艇(H8K1 Emily) 9機がウエーク島南東の連合軍TFを攻撃しました。1機がFlakで撃墜されましたが、CVE Nassauに魚雷2本を命中させて撃沈しました。この戦闘で不思議なのは、CAPはいなかったのにF4F-4 Wildcat: 2 destroyedと報告されたことです。空母とともに艦載機が沈んでしまうとground lossになるのでこうは表示されないはずなんですよね。また

とも書かれています。コンバットリポートでこういう表現をみたのは初めてのような気がします。これはどういう事態を意味しているんでしょう？？
ついで、日本の機動部隊からも同じ連合軍TFにゼロ戦(A6M5b Zero) 34機の護衛で九七艦攻(B5N2 Kate) 14機、九九艦爆(D3A1 Val) 4機、彗星艦爆(D4Y1 Judy) 6機が攻撃に向かいました。やはりCAPは上がっていませんでした。艦攻・艦爆が攻撃目標にしたのは駆逐艦だったので、このTFには駆逐艦しか残っていなかったのかも知れません。合計24機が攻撃したにもかかわらず命中弾は0でした。日本の駆逐艦と違って連合軍の駆逐艦には爆弾も魚雷もちっとも命中しません。逆にFlakで九九艦爆と九七艦攻各1機が撃墜されてしまいました。
先日も書きましたが、艦攻・艦爆は空母戦で数が大幅に減ってしまいました。今日の戦闘後の数は赤城・瑞鶴・飛龍の3空母合わせてゼロ戦93(8)、九七艦攻51(2)、九九艦爆15(1)、彗星艦爆6(4)で、パンチ力には欠けます。空母というものは、一回空母戦を戦うと自身にダメージを受けなくても、有効な攻撃力を失ってしまうもののようです。早いところ帰投させて、機体とパイロットの補充をすべきなのでしょう。でも、まだウエーク島飛行場を制圧できたという確信が持てていないので、空母のゼロ戦にウエーク島をsweepさせ、Roi-Namurの陸攻隊にウエーク島飛行場を爆撃させるつもりです。マーシャル諸島からウエーク島(距離16ヘクス)爆撃を護衛できる戦闘機がないので、数日これを繰り返すことになるかも知れません。
午後になって二式大艇(H8K1 Emily) 4機がウエーク島のヘクスでCV Hornetを雷撃しました。ホーネットは沈没艦船のリストに名前があったのですが、まだ生き残っていました。雷撃はすべてはずれでしたが、ホーネットはすでにheavy damageでした。ところで、昨日のマップでも今日のマップでもウエーク島とその近辺のヘクスには連合軍TFの姿はありません。ウエーク島には3隻が在泊中と報告されていますから、そのうちの一隻がホーネットなのでしょう。あとの二隻が何なのかも楽しみです。まさかこの3隻に逃げられてしまうようなことのないよう、進めたいと思います。
久しぶりにニューギニア南岸のMeraukeに連合軍TFがやってきていました。ダーウィンからこのTFめがけて一式陸攻(G4M1 Betty) 16機が出撃しましたが、本来なら護衛につくべきゼロ戦の姿はありませんでした。12月5日の戦闘でダーウィンのゼロ戦(A6M2)は大きな被害を受けたので、お休みさせてあったのです。MeraukeにはKittyhawk III 5機とP-40E Warhawk 7機のCAPが待ち構えていました。CAP対護衛のない一式陸攻ということで大惨事を予想したのですが、なぜか一機も撃墜されずに切り抜けることができました。きっとMerauke飛行場所属機のCAPではなく、Horn IslandからのLRCAPだったのでタイムリーな迎撃ができなかったんだと思います。ただし、CAPに攻撃され平静心を失ったためか、xAP MatuaとCL Sumatraを狙った魚雷を16機ともはずしてしまいました。Meraukeはまた艦砲射撃で叩く必要があるのかも。
陸戦フェーズでは中国の柳州で4日連続の攻撃があり、また昨日中国軍の進出してきた柳州東隣のヘクスでも攻撃されました。柳州東隣のヘクスは森林なので、オッズ比1対1でしたが、deviceの被害は中国側の被害が上回っていました。しかし柳州の戦闘はオッズ比6対1とこの4日間ではもっとも良好なスコアでしたが、損害device数は日中おなじくらいでこのままだと敗退必死という結果でした。兵員数では中国側の方がずっと多いので、損害device数も中国側の方が多くなるようでないと持ちこたえられないはず。憂慮すべき事態であり、広東や香港の安全のために満州から2個師団を移動させることにしました。
