昭和17年8月30日、ニューギニア北東のマダンでサプライを陸揚げしていたFast Transport TFが、ブナから飛来した2波合計で28機のBeaufighter Icの高度2000フィートからの低空爆撃を受けました。2隻のうちPB Kyo Maru #10には250ポンド爆弾が5発命中して沈没し、PB Seikai Maruにも2発命中してSys 20, Flt 42(24), Eng 4, Fire 4と大破してしまいました。とりあえず、PB Seikai Maruには破壊されなかった積荷148トンを陸揚げさせ、火災があるのでマダン港にautodisbandさせるよう指示しました。このTF攻撃とは別に、マダンには双発爆撃機2波合計25機の港湾爆撃もありました。この港湾爆撃はほぼ連日のように来ているので、disbandさせても港湾爆撃で沈められてしまいそうです。
先日、マダンとの距離的にはブナより近いTerapoを占領されて、そちらからの航空攻撃があるのかと思っていましたが、今日はブナからでした。でも、TerapoにBeaufighter Icなどが配備されると、ニューギニア北東部へのサプライ輸送がもっときびしくなりそうです。続航する2つのFast Transport TFがマダンまで距離5ヘクスのところにまで来ていますが、マダンへ向かわせることは中止し、もっと西へ向かわせることにしました。
Weakに陸揚げしたサプライは東方のラエやマダンや最前線のサラワクに流れてくれるんでしょうか？マニュアルのサプライの地上輸送の記述からだと、距離的に近いホーランディアの方に行っちゃう気がします。でも、いつぞやのパッチがあたってから、中国のリソースが大連に輸送されず上海に集まるようになりました。中国と満州国の間の国境線が意味を持つようになったってことですよね。これと同じことが、もともと蘭領だったホーランディアと、パプアニューギニアのWeakやマダンやラエとのあいだにもないとはいえないので、検証も兼ねてWeakに向かわせました。
