昭和17年8月26日、ニューギニア南岸のTearapo。昨日の時点では6600名ほどしか上陸していなかった連合軍地上部隊ですが、今日も上陸は続き、合計で兵員23320名、砲426門、装甲戦闘車輛388両になりました。地形ボーナスとforitification 3があっても多勢に無勢で、一回目のdeliverate attackが修正オッズ比971対1となり、あっさり陥落してしまいました。まあ、このTerapoが陥落したこと自体はやむを得ないのですが、地図を見ていて連合軍が今後アラフラ海を西進して蘭印を狙ってくることが心配になってきてしまいました。
昨日のエントリーで、ビルマのMagweからチッタゴンに百式重爆52機が爆撃したことを書きました。重爆部隊には引き続き同じ指示を与えてあったのですが、今日は105機の百式重爆が飛行場爆撃に向かってくれました。昨日と同様CAPの機影はみとめられず、また昨日と違って今日は地上にも連合軍機はいませんでした。CAPにも地上にも戦闘機がいないから昨日の2倍もの数が爆撃に向かってくれたんでしょうか？それとも昨日はheavy cloudで今日はlight cloudだから天候の違いが影響しているのか？謎です。今日の戦果はAirbase hits 17、Airbase supply hits 7、Runway hits 40とまずまずでした。
昨日のSIGINTで真珠湾からの電波が一つ報告されていました。今日のSIGINTには真珠湾からの電波の報告が二つ。このパターンだとその連合軍根拠地の飛行機の数や在泊艦船の種類などをみることができます。今日の真珠湾の様子をみてみると、空母が一隻在泊中であることが分かりました。南太平洋海戦で傷ついたレキシントンがドック入りしているのかも知れません。以前のプレイも含め、SIGINTで空母の位置が判明したのはこれが初めの経験だと思います。
南太平洋海戦での日本側の損傷艦もようやく本土にたどり着きつつあります。今日は大和が呉に到着しました。大和には多数の500ポンド爆弾が命中したのですが、Sys 34, Flt 0, Eng 16と中程度の被害でmajorなダメージはありません。このくらいならすぐに修理が終わるだろうと思っていたのですが、実際に見積もりを見てみるとPiersideの修理で46日、Readinessの修理で69日、Shipyardに入るとなんと118日もかかるとのこと。破壊された15.5センチ副砲や10センチ高角砲をpiersideで、いわんやreadinessで修理できるのかどうかは疑問で、この数字がどのくらい正確なのかにも問題なしとはしません。でも、以前に艦船修理ガイドというエントリーで紹介したように、Shipyardでの修理が最善とは必ずしもいえないことも確かなようです。現在の呉港の規模は9でNaval Support 370もいます。こういう大きな港だと、majorなダメージさえなければ、ShipyardよりPiersideの方がより短く修理を終えられるのでしょうね。
