がっかり続きの昭和17年1月5日

ビルマ方面の連合軍もどんどん撤退しているだろうと安易に考えて(というか何も考えずに)、昭和17年1月4日にサルウィン川を渡河しました。渡河なのでshock attackになるのですが、連合軍はモールメンからの渡河点に1個聯隊・7個旅団・4個大隊を集中させていて、オッズ比1対41の大惨敗。死傷者3775名で、主力の112聯隊は歩兵・工兵分隊全滅となってしまいました。歩兵聯隊のASが0になるのも珍しいので、記念にお示しします。
そして、今日1月5日には元のモールメンに撃退されました。合計すると連合軍の兵力は3個師団相当で、しかもここは森林ヘクスですから、ここからの渡河攻撃はまず無理でしょうね。迂回して北の方から泰緬国境を越えるか、またはラングーンかペグーに上陸作戦をするか。もし上陸作戦となるとまずはシンガポールをおとさないと無理ですね。
そのシンガポールですが、上陸後一週間の休養を取って、今日はじめてdeliberate attackをしかけました。結果はオッズ比1対2で要塞レベルを落とすことができず、日本側死傷者4903名、連合軍側1515名と敗北でした。2個師団・2個歩兵聯隊・2個工兵聯隊と砲兵だけで攻撃させたのが失敗でした。あとの3個師団はdisabledの歩兵の回復を待とうと思って、reserveでお休みさせたままだったのですが、そんな余裕はないことが判明。攻略にはまだだいぶ時間がかかりそうです。
そして、本日一番のがっかりはこれ。1月2日に連合軍空母をオーストラリア西岸沖で発見したことは潜水艦長の決断というエントリーに書きました。その対応にチモール島クーパンにいたmini KBを出撃させました。はじめはクーパンの哨戒機の傘から出ないでおこうかとも思ったのですが、虎穴に入らずんば虎児を得ずなので、遠出させてみました。今日のリプレイを見ていると午前のフェーズでここに連合軍TFが見えました。内心「やったね」と思い、いつmini KBからの攻撃が始まるかと楽しみにしていたのですが、午前も午後も攻撃はなく、陸戦フェーズになってしまい、上記の敗北をみるはめになってしまいました。まったく拍子抜けです。
彼我の距離は5ヘクスで雷撃も充分に可能な距離です。相手のTFにはCVEしかいないから、A6M2 Zeroを66機、B5N2 Kateを84機も搭載しているmini KBの飛行隊が怖れるべき相手ではないでしょう。またmini KBのヘクスの天候はclear skyなので離陸不能とも思えません。たしかに相手のTFの上空はextreme ocercastなので発見できないということはありえますが、攻撃に発進しない理由になるんでしょうか?mini KBの指揮官は南雲中将ですが、それがいけないの?うーん、謎です。
仕方がないので、明日の攻撃を期待して、相手のTFに向かって航海させることにしました。これで良かったでしょうか?連合軍もこのTFが水上機に見つけられたことは分かったはずです。その水上機を潜水艦搭載のGlenと思ってくれればいいのですが、艦載水上機の可能性も当然考慮に入れますよね。逃げる方向によっては逃げ切られてしまうかもしれないですよね。
