昨年末から始めたSims3ですが、飽きずに続けています。だいたい、男キャラ一人の世帯(男キャラで始めるのは私が女性ではないからです)で始めて、そのキャラが死亡するかひいおじいちゃんになる頃までプレイします。 Sims3にはたくさんのプレイ日記ブログがあって、そこで得た知識で新たなことを始めたくなり、そうするとまた男キャラ一名の新たな世帯をつくってやり直すっていう感じで遊んでいます。面白く遊んではいてもSims3のプレイ日記を書こうという気にはなりません。プレイ日記ブログというのはWitP AEだとAARにあたるのかも知れませんが、かなり違う面もあるように感じるので読むだけで充分かな。でも読んで面白いブログは本当にたくさんあって、もしかするとWitP AEの日本でのプレイヤーの数より、Sims3のプレイ日記を書いている人の方が多いのかも。プレイヤーの中でプレイ日記を書く人の割合がどのくらいなのかは知りませんが、日本でのプレイヤーの数を比較するとSims3の方が数百倍というより数千倍くらいいそうな気がします。
日本人WitP AEプレイヤーの少なさも反映してか、このブログを訪問してくれる人の数も微々たるものです。それでも3年越しで駄文を書き連ねているのは、書く目的の一番目が自分のためだからです。PBEMをしているとああすれば良かったと反省することがしきりです。リプレイで戦闘の結果をみてから反省するのももちろんなのですが、こうやってブログを書いていると、結果が出る前の段階(相手の方からの返信を待っている間)でああすれば良かったなと感じる点が多いし、たとえそれが悪い結果を生まなくともそうすべきではなかった点にも気付くことができます。それと、単にオーダーし忘れたことを思い出すことも少なくありません。例えば、昨日のエントリーで第3師団の再編成のことを書きましたが、実はあれはオーダーし忘れていて、ブログを書きながらそれに気付いたことなのでした。
そこで、相手の方から返信があってリプレイをみた後、忘れないうちにまずこの再編成を実施しました。そこで気付いたことがあります。昨日の時点で第3師団の再編成をチェックしてみると、28PP必要と表示されました。しかし、今日のリプレイを見終わって実際に再編成を試みたところ、8PPで済むと表示されました。不審に思って、もういちどリプレイ後のまったくオーダーしていないファイルでまた再編成を試みると、今度は19PPで済むと表示されました。再編成に必要なPPは一定ではないようです。
仕組みとしては、Destroyed LCUsのリストの画面をひらくと、はじめは再編成に必要なPPは表示されていません。再編成しようとするLCUの名前を右クリックすると、どんなTOEで登場するかの画面になります。そこからDestroyed LCUsのリストの画面に戻ると、そのLCUを再編成するのに必要なPPの数値が表示されるようになっています。今回チェックしてみた3回では、必要なPP値が多いほど、TOEに含まれるdeviceの数が豊富で、しかも早めに登場するようです。ただ、そう断言するにはもっと試行してみないといけないとは思いますが。
このゲームはランダムの関与するところの大きなゲームですが、こういった乱数の使い方、つまり自分の望むPP値と日数の組み合わせが出るまでやり直せるような仕組みは他になかったんじゃないかと思います。うちでは、このゲームを始めてしばらくの間、頻回に落ちてました(最近は全然おちなくなりました。PCもOSも変えてない、サブモニターに表示させたTrackerやCombat Reporterやブラウザと行き来しながらのプレイスタイルにも変化ないのに。パッチのおかげでしょうか？)。1ターンのオーダーを終えるまでに数回落ちるのが当たり前だったので、しょっちゅうセーブする癖がついてしまいました。それでも、セーブ後にしたオーダーをまた繰り返すことも多かったわけです。オーダーした時に即座に乱数の影響がみえるものとしては
- LCUのcombat modeとstrategic modeとの変換にかかる日数
- reserveにいるパイロットをactiveな飛行隊に移動させるのにかかる日数
- 飛行隊をtarnsferさせた時にdisabled(まれにはdestroyed)になる機数
などがありますが、これらはこのLCUの再編成とは違って、落ちた後にやり直しても同じ結果になるような印象を持っていましたがどうでしょう。きっと、後からオーダーする連合軍側プレイヤーがPBEMセーブをする時に、次のターンの乱数を発生させるためのseedが蒔かれていて、次のターンで何をしても同じ結果になる仕様なんだろうと思っていました。なので、今回のLCUの再編成が、まったく違う方式をとったことは驚きです。まあ必要なPPの多少の違いと、TOEの多少の違いとは大勢に影響しないだろうという判断なのかも知れませんが。以上、以前に書いた破壊されたLCUの召還・復活の実際というエントリーの内容に付け足します。
昭和17年4月15日、バタビア攻略に成功しました。工兵が43分隊もいたせいか、バタビアの産業施設は大きなダメージを被ってしまったのが残念です。ジャワ島で残るはバンドンとTjilatjapの2カ所だけになりました。
