艦砲射撃TFの挙動に仕様変更か


昭和17年4月3日、上陸後3週間以上経過してもちっともらちがあかないダーウィンに11th Garrison Unitを上陸させました。ダーウィン港の残存沿岸砲は今でも反撃してくるので、上陸船団には重巡摩耶を組み込んでおきました。重巡が砲撃したからだと思われますが、上陸前の射撃の応酬第一波では、日本側の死傷者102名に対して、連合軍側の死傷者284名と報告されています。その後、昼になってから戦艦山城と軽巡鬼怒がダーウィンに艦砲射撃を実施しました。連合軍側の被害は死傷者290名、Airbase hits 10、Airbase supply hits 2、Runway hits 34、Port hits 8、Port fuel hits 5と報告されています。以前の陸戦でサプライ不足が報告されていましたが、 Airbase supply hits 2ということはサプライが0になっているわけではないようです。
2月6日の米戦艦3隻による艦砲射撃とダーウィン攻撃の失敗というエントリーで、アメリカの艦砲射撃TFの挙動が変だと感じたことに触れました。艦砲射撃が夜ではなく昼間に実施された点、艦砲射撃後に居座ることになった点、もう一度艦砲射撃してから去っていった点、この三つを変だと感じたのです。艦砲射撃は夜陰に紛れて接近し、夜のうちに攻撃して、日の上がる前に去って行く仕様です。しかし、Remain on Stationの設定にしておけば、前日の所在地点と目的地との距離によっては昼間に攻撃することもできます。なので、私は連合軍側が艦砲射撃TFにRemain on Stationを指示したのだろうと想像したのですが、お相手の話ではそうではなかったとのこと。一回目の艦砲射撃終了後に弾薬を残している艦があって、お相手の方の指示ではなく、自発的にもう一度射撃してから去ったのだそうです。
今回の山城と鬼怒の艦砲射撃でも同じ現象がみられました。図にお示ししたように、艦砲射撃後もこのTFはダーウィンに居座ったままです。また、山城と鬼怒ともに不自然に砲弾を残しています。前日の位置はダーウィンから距離8ヘクスで、夜間に全力で接近して攻撃を済ませてから待避できるはずの位置だったので、位置取りが悪かったわけではありません。どうしてこうなったのか、ほんとうに不思議。
お相手の方はベータパッチで艦砲射撃の挙動が変更されたんじゃないかという説です。前々回と前回にご紹介したエンジン在庫数によるR&Dポイントボーナスのように、パッチによる仕様変更が明示されないこともあるので、彼の説も否定はできない気がします。パッチのプログラマーが目的をもって加えた変更が、思いがけないところで別のことに意図しない変化を来してしまうことだってあるでしょうからね。また、ベータパッチ下でも、艦砲射撃TFが通常の挙動を示したことも何度もあるので、この挙動不審はかなり最近のベータパッチが原因でしょう。まあ、ルーガンビルにしても、ダーウィンにしても、艦砲射撃TFが翌朝帰還することになっても、航空攻撃をあまり心配しなくていいところなので、問題は起きませんでした。しかし、制空権のない厳しいところだと、これによる戦艦や巡洋艦の被害がいずれは出るのかも知れません。
先日、公式の新パッチが発表されました。バージョンは1.01.08r9で、ベータの最終バージョン1108r9ととてもよく似た名称です。同じものなのかどうかフォーラムで尋ねた人がいますが、いまのところ回答はありません。でも、ベータパッチはどれもとても堅牢でしたから、これまでベータをあてていなかった方も、これを機にバージョンアップすることをお勧めしたいと思います。哨戒飛行のsearch arcのバグの解消や、パイロット管理でマウスボタンをクリックする回数が減るUIの改善などなど。ほかにも改善点はたくさんあるのですが、余り長くベータを使っていたので、どの点が改善点か思い出せなくなってしまいました。もうひとつだけ紹介しますと、工場のインフォメーション画面の新型機種のR&Dのラインで、新型機種にマウスカーソルをあわせるとどれだけR&Dが伸展しているのかが表示されます。これだけでもあてる価値はあると思います。一覧表としてみるにはTracker 1.9ですが、バージョンアップの期日ははっきりしませんしね。




ところで、ダーウィンの東方に3隻からなる連合軍TFが報告されています。インド方面やパースからオーストラリア西岸を経由してここに水上艦TFが到達するのは無理だろうと思います。というか、チモール島クーパンの九六陸攻の飛行隊36機にはこの海域の哨戒飛行に専念させているので、もし見逃してしまったなら、なす術無し。なので、きっとトレス海峡経由で東からやってきたのだと思います。こちらの方はそれほど密な哨戒をしていないので。でも3隻のTFというのは何なんでしょう。駆逐艦3隻くらいで、ダーウィンへの揚陸TFに嫌がらせをするつもりでしょうか?それとも潜水艦を一隻ずつTFに仕立てるのが面倒で、ダーウィンの近くまで3隻まとめて移動させてただけでしょうか?気になる。
