魚雷が命中しても不発ばかりの連合軍の潜水艦の活躍が今日は目立ちました。稚泊海峡ではSS S-47がxAK La Plata Maru(VP 4, tonnage 2375)とxAK Hakodate Maru(VP 4, tonnage 2375)を2隻撃沈。台湾海峡ではSS Grenadierの攻撃でxAK Akasisan Maruに魚雷一本命中。まだ沈没してはいませんが、釜山から香港まで高射砲の部隊を輸送していたTFだったので、

と報告されていました。このGuns lostというのは連合軍側のリポートにも載るんでしょうかね？香港はシンガポールからの燃料・原油・リソースの陸揚げ港(その後、陸路で上海に輸送され、上海から福岡へコンボイで輸送)になっていて船舶の出入りがかなり多くなっています。相手の方は四発爆撃機の使い方が上手なので中国奥地から香港に爆撃して来ることも予想され、その対策として香港に高射砲部隊を移動させました。陸路だと鉄道が武漢までしか通じていなくて時間がかかるので、海上輸送にしてみたのですが、別に急ぐことではなかったので、陸路でも良かったかも知れません。その後、トラックからニューギニアのMadangにサプライを輸送するFast Transport TFがSS Permitに襲撃され、PB Ikunta Maruに魚雷が一本命中。日本側はニューカレドニア南岸でSS RO-67がASW任務についていたと思われるAM Matai(VP 4, tonnage 1105)を撃沈して、一矢報いることができました。それにしても、今日の状況は、昭和18年以降の連合軍の潜水艦の活躍を先取りしている感がありました。
6月19日以来、連合軍はブナでの攻撃を毎日続けて来ました。一昨日くらいからは、いつ陥落してもおかしくないと感じているのですが、今日もまた防衛に成功しました。歩兵聯隊一つと陸戦隊三つが主力ですが、これら歩兵部隊に残っている歩兵分隊はほとんどがdisabledになっていて、AVを保持している部隊は飛行場の整備部隊ばかり。今日の陸戦前には全部のAVを合計しても45しかなく、これでアメリカ軍の2個師団強の部隊と戦闘しているのですから、敗北しないのが不思議です。しかし、防御側ではAV 0のdeviceもAVの算出に含まれることと、地形とforitificationと相手の疲労とが重なって、修正AVは272対127、オッズ比2対1でfortificationが1あるので、防衛で来たわけです。陸戦によりforitificationは0にされてしまいましたが、工兵はそれなりの数がいるのでまた1に戻すことが出来ました。連合軍がブナ飛行場を無傷で手に入れるつもりで爆撃しないでいると、次のターンも防衛できそうです。でも、相手の方も馬鹿ではないですから、明日は港湾爆撃をしてforitificationの強化工事を妨害して来るんじゃないかなと思いますが。
