アンダマン海で艦砲射撃と水上戦闘



昭和17年2月15日は、アンダマン海でいろいろと動きがありました。まず、戦艦ロイヤル・ソブリンとC級軽巡6隻からなる英艦隊がモールメンに艦砲射撃を実施しました。艦載機の弾着観測は行われなかった(もしかすると艦載機を搭載していないのかな)のですが、コンバットリポートによるとご覧の通りの大きな被害が出ています。コンバットリポートは両軍に同一のものが提供されていて、FOWの影響が大きいという定評があります。今後、日本が艦砲射撃を実施した際のコンバットリポートの戦果を評価する参考になると思うので、実際の被害と比較してみました。
モールメンの施設に対する弾着は飛行場施設31発、滑走路64発、港湾施設27発と、飛行場の方にたくさん命中していました。実際の被害も滑走路ダメージ>飛行場施設ダメージ>港湾ダメージで、この報告は信頼性ありですね。
また、飛行場のサプライに6発と港のサプライに2発が命中しています。モールメンのここしばらくのサプライ消費量の平均は一日に184トンなのに対し、この日はサプライが814トン減っていました。つまり艦砲射撃によるサプライの被害は合計で630トン、一発あたり80トン弱ということになります。航空爆弾の命中によるサプライの破壊量の平均値は、爆弾のEffect値xAnti-Soft値/100というようにDevの人が開示していますが、艦砲によるサプライの破壊量についてはフォーラムでも読んだ記憶がありません。またリプレイの艦砲射撃のアニメーションが長いので戦艦の砲弾と軽巡の砲弾が何発ずつ命中したのかも数えなかったのではっきりしたことは言えませんが、今回の艦砲射撃の一発あたりのサプライ破壊量は250ポンド爆弾(サプライ破壊量平均62.5)より少し多いという程度でした。
20000人以上の兵員のいるところへ戦艦の艦砲射撃ですから、569名の死傷者が出たのはやむを得ないところです。また各deviceの被害数をみてみても、Non CombatとEngineersを合計したものとそれに対応するEng, Supの被害数が、コンバットリポートの方がかなり多めに報告されてはいます。しかしSquads、Guns、Vehiclesの被害数はかなり実態を反映していて、この項に関してもやはり信頼性ありだと思います。
問題なのは飛行機の被害です。ちょうど前日バンコクからモールメンにKi-43-Ic Oscar装備の64戦隊を移動させたばかりでした。この部隊にはラングーンへのsweepを指示してあったのですが、運悪く艦砲射撃にぶつかってしまったのです。コンバットリポートでは56機損傷で、8機破壊されたとなっています。でも64戦隊の定数は42機で、前日も42機だけが配備されていたので、56機損傷というのは大げさで、連合軍プレイヤーを喜ばせる発表です。でも8機破壊の方は、実際には11機も破壊されていました。また飛行場への空爆のときと同じようにパイロットにも死傷者があり、1名がKIA、1名がWIAとなりました。しかも今日の艦砲射撃が痛いのは、KIAになった1名がIJAにはまだ数の少ないエースだったことです。よりにもよってパイロット宿舎のエースの寝ているベッドに弾片が突き刺さらなくてもいいのにと無情を感じてしまいました。施設、サプライ、地上部隊、飛行機の被害をまとめると、コンバットリポートはかなり実態に即していると感じました。
このゲームでは日本側のみならず連合軍側もこれまで何度か艦砲射撃を実施し、連合軍のモールメン艦砲射撃はこれで3度目ですが、これほど効果的に飛行機を破壊できた艦砲射撃は両軍通じてこれが初めてでした。WitP AEでは戦闘機と対空砲では対処できない四発爆撃機を叩きに日本側が艦砲射撃をすることが多く、しかも艦砲射撃は史実以上に有効というのが定評です。それを意識して、ヴィクトリアポイントに配備した二式大艇にアンダマン海を哨戒飛行させていました。しかし昨日のアンダマン海には艦砲射撃TFらしきものは見当たらず、奇襲されてしまったわけです。しかも情けないことに今日も艦砲射撃後のTFは見当たらず、どこからやって来たかだけでなく、どこに去ったのかさえ皆目不明です。ロイヤル・ソブリンという鈍足の旧式戦艦が含まれているTFなので、モールメンから距離8ヘクスより遠くには行けないはずなのですが。
数日前からラングーンとポートプレアに連合軍のコンボイが停泊していました。これほど堂々とラングーンにコンボイを送り込んでくるとは思っていなかったので、バンコクにはAir HQを配置していませんでした。仕方ないので、九七重爆で爆撃してみましたがぜんぜん命中しません。シンガポールとパレンバンの陥落を機に、ジョホールバルに配置していたAir HQをバンコクに移動させ、陸攻で雷撃ができるように手配しました。しかしAir HQの到着まではまだ数日かかるので、重巡主体の水上艦隊を向かわせることにしました。シンガポール陥落前だったので、まだ主な戦闘艦はカムラン湾を根拠地にしていました。アンダマン海へはマレー半島をぐるっと一回りして行くことになるので、ラングーンのコンボイは揚陸を終了して帰港し始めてしまいました。しかし港の規模の小さなポートブレアは揚陸に時間がかかるようで、こちらの重巡がポートブレアに隣接するヘクスに接近してもまだ陸揚げ中でした。
重巡の接近は連合軍哨戒機に発見されたので、2月15日のターンで連合軍コンボイは北への逃走を始めました。逃走の途中、連合軍コンボイは北アンダマン島のdot baseも何もない空っぽのヘクスに対空砲ユニットを上陸させました。こんなところに揚陸させる戦術的な意味はないと思うので、なぜこういう揚陸が行われたのかは不明です。揚陸未了の地上部隊を乗せている輸送船は、敵の水上艦隊の脅威にさらされると、人命を救うため近くの陸地に上陸させるような仕様があるのでしょうか?フォーラムでもこれまでそういった話題を目にしたことはありませんが、奥の深いゲームだけにあってもいい気もします。

重巡高雄・摩耶を基幹とする日本の水上戦闘TFは二手に分かれていた連合軍コンボイに昼になってから追いついきました。2度の戦闘で6隻のxAKと4隻のコルベットを撃沈し、砲と車輛にも損害を与えることができました。ポートブレアには飛行場用の整備部隊と対空砲を輸送してきていたもののようです。



激しい戦闘の行われた後のアンダマン海の様子はこんな具合です。頭が痛いのはラングーンとPeguとPeguの南西のヘクスに陣取った英軍部隊です。全部合わせると8万人以上もいます。サルウィン川を渡河してゆくべきか、ラングーンに上陸作戦を実施すべきか、ビルマをこのまま英軍の手に残しておくわけにはいかず、非常に悩ましい。
Trackerをみてみると、日本側の隼が地上で破壊されているだけではなく、連合軍側もF4 Lightningを8機地上で損失していると報告されていました。コンバットリポートでは、今日の日本側の空襲でF4 Lightningを破壊したような話は報告されていません。艦船に搭載中の飛行機がその艦船の沈没で失われるとGround Lossになるので、きっと今日沈没した輸送船のどれかが運んでいたのだと思います。ポートブレアへの輸送船が運んでいたのでしょうか?こういった海難事故の危険があるので、私が連合軍側でプレイをしているとしたら、ポートブレアへはインドやビルマから自力で飛行させてtransferすると思います。相手の方もきっと同じように考えるんじゃないでしょうか。今日はハワイ東方沖でI-25がxAK Exchangeというアメリカの輸送船を撃沈しているので、もしかするとこっちの方に搭載されていたのかも知れません。F4 LightningはP-38の偵察機バージョンでそれなりに貴重(Ki-43-Icよりもずっと)な機種だと思われます。モールメン艦砲射撃はかなりの痛手でしたが、コンボイの殲滅とF4 Lightning水葬ということで、今日のスコアは1対1といったところでしょうか。
