昭和18年1月18日、moonlight 78%と夜間空襲解禁になりました。日本側は中国戦線で西安と貴陽(Kweiyang)を、またビルマではメイクテーラから百式重爆32機がインドのDimapurに向かいました。西安と貴陽ではふつうの爆撃の成果だけでしたが、DimapurではC-47 Skytrain 23機が地上で損傷したと報告され、Trackerでも地上破壊2機、Ops loss 2機となっていました。中国軍の活動度はこのC-47 Skytrainなど輸送機によるインドからのサプライの空輸に依存していると思うので、すこしでも叩ければと思っています。
HRで昭和18年1月から戦略爆撃解禁としてあるので、当然、連合軍からもビルマのマグエ油田への夜間空襲があるのかと思っていましたが、昨晩はありませんでした。ニューギニア戦線でもやはり連合軍の夜間空襲はありませんでした。これはたまたま天候が悪かったりしたためでしょうか。このところしばらく連合軍の四発爆撃機が飛ぶ姿が報告されていません。マグエ油田の夜間空襲なんていうちっぽけな目標ではなく、なにかしらよからぬことを企んでいるのではないかと、ちょっと心配になりました。今晩これから、夜間空襲があるかどうかに注目してみたいと思います。
夜間空襲はありませんでしたが、ビルマでは堂々と昼にミートキーナへの空襲がありました。Hurricane IIc Trop 32機の護衛で爆撃機102機(Vengeance I 25、Blenheim IV 19、Blenheim VD 32、Hudson IIIa 12、Wellington Ic 14)が5波に分かれての爆撃で、ミートキーナはAirbase hits 32、Airbase supply hits 11、Runway hits 83と大きな被害を受けました。ビルマ中部の飛行場に昼間と夜間と両方にCAPを上げないといけないので、ミートキーナは連合軍の好きにさせておこうと思います。
昨晩は、海でも被害が出ています。まずは、カムラン湾の沖でxAK Kiyo Maru(VP 10, tonnage 4875)がSS Skipjackに襲撃され、Shell hits 6, Torpedo hits 2の被害で沈没しました。リプレイを見ていると、最初に魚雷が一本命中した後に砲撃を受け、xAK Kiyo Maruも反撃して一発だけ命中弾を記録しましたが、その後にもう一本魚雷が命中して沈没していました。基本的に商船を独航させることはないので、この潜水艦の浮上攻撃を見ながら、護衛のPBはいったい何をしているんだろうかと不思議に感じていました。潜水艦の艦長はよほどaggの高い人で、PBの艦長はかなりaggの低い人なのかなとも想像していたのですが、リプレイが終わって確認してみるとそういう事情ではなく、xAK Kiyo Maruは独航していたのでした。
前回の航海でxAK Kiyo Maruはスラバヤから香港にリソースを輸送するコンボイに参加していました。しかし香港到着時にSys 4, Flt 5(5), 2(2)とダメージがたまっていたので、リソースをすべて降ろしたら香港港で修理させるつもりで、コンボイからはずして単独のTFを編成してリソースを荷揚げさせました。このゲームではTFのインフォメーション画面でForm New TFボタンを押して新たなTFを編成すると、もとのTFのMissionや母港などの情報がそのまま新たなTFにも引き継がれる仕様です。そのため、xAK Kiyo MaruのTFの母港もスラバヤとなってしまい、リソースを降ろし終わった後、香港からスラバヤまで独航をはじめていたのでした。こういったミスって気を付けてはいるつもりでもありがちですね。
昨晩はこの他、ジャワ海西部のビリトン島からシンガポールにリソースを輸送するコンボイがSS Trustyに襲撃され、xAK Naples Maru(VP 10, tonnage 4875)に発射された魚雷4本がすべて命中して沈没しました。潜水艦による艦船の沈没は今月に入ってこれで10隻です。うち7隻は21in MK14 Torpedoによるものですから、やはりアメリカの魚雷の不発率低下の影響は大きいと感じます。
