ラングーンの夜間空襲で大きな被害

昭和18年2月21日、ラングーンに夜間空襲がありました。リプレイの地図の航跡のラインは途中で途切れていますが、おそらくチッタゴン(距離12ヘクス)とダッカ(距離15ヘクス)の飛行場からやってきたものと思われます。遠距離の攻撃なので来襲したのはB24とB17と四発爆撃機のみで、2波合計して69機でした。これまでずっとラングーンへの爆撃がなかったので、夜間のCAPはKi-45 KAIa Nickの小部隊だけで、昨夜は5機が迎撃に上がったのみでした。

リポートでも多数の機体が地上で破壊されたことが分かりますが、Trackerでみると合計43機が地上で破壊されていました。これまでにも一日に50機以上の航空機の損失を来したことがありますが、地上での破壊がこんなに多いのは初めての経験で、泣きたいくらいの気分です。この規模の空襲が続くようだと、ラングーン飛行場は放棄しなければならず、明日以降どうなるのものやら。機体の被害の多さに比較してパイロットのKIAが2名、WIAが2名と少なかったことが唯一の救いです。
