桂林の南で敗北

昭和17年6月12日、桂林の西南のヘクスで陸戦があり、敗北を喫しました。以前から桂林では日本側の2個師団と5万名ほどの中国軍が対峙していました。日本側が桂林に進入したのは、この西南のヘクスからなので、サプライの供給路を絶たれないために、8th Ind.Mixed Brigadeを配置してあったのですが、中国側がCorps４つとArmy 2つで攻撃してきました。さすがに一個旅団で支えるのは無理だったようで、修正前AV 1354対210、修正AV 775対262、オッズ比2対1、中国側の死傷者929名に対して日本側は2379名と大敗を喫して東側のヘクスに撤退することになりました。

私が下手だからか、相手の方の方がうまいというべきか、中国でもかなり苦戦しています。このままだと桂林のヘクスの2個師団が危なくなるので、唯一確保できているヘクスサイドを通って、桂林から脱出を計ることにしました。ジャングルの道なき道を行くことになるので、脱出が間に合うのか不明です。困った。

海ではラバウルにサプライを輸送してトラックへ戻るコンボイを護衛していたPB Tokihime Maruが

SS Sculpinに雷撃され、沈没しました。6月に入ってから日本の潜水艦は攻撃のチャンスをつかむことが全くできていないのに対して、連合軍の潜水艦は大活躍。日本側はdudのおかげでなんとか息をつけている状態です。

また、ポートモレスビーに上陸用舟艇と護衛の小艦艇が集結しています。このところニューギニア島南岸のTerapoに対する爆撃が頻繁なので、ここに上陸するつもりかもしれません。ニューギニア東端のMilne Bayも日本側の手にありますが、もう戦略的な価値はないので、ここは放置するでしょうしね。

どこも戦況は芳しくないのですが、ビルマからはうれしいしらせが。印緬国境付近で連合軍機が集結している飛行場はチッタゴンとカルカッタです。カルカッタには四発爆撃機がいるので叩きたいところではありますが、なんといっても遠い。近い方のチッタゴンを爆撃する準備として、マンダレーに配置してあるA6M3b(RA mod固有の機首)でsweepをしてみました。チッタゴンのヘクスそのものにsweepするのもこわいので、2ヘクス南のCox’s Bazarをターゲットにしました。24機のA6M3bに16機のHurricane IIb Tropが対戦して、13機撃墜と1機をOps lossにする戦果をあげました。A6M3bの方は2機がOps lossになっただけでパイロットも1名がWIA(fatigue 10なので一週間くらいで復帰できるでしょう)になりましたが、KIAやMIAはなく、ほぼ完勝でした。sweeperの方が有利なのはたしかですが、今のところパイロットの技量にかなり差があるのかもしれません。
