このPBEM世界での珊瑚海海戦が終了して3日がたちました。緊迫感は薄れましたが、それでも連日のように連合軍潜水艦の攻撃による被害が続いています。昭和17年7月24日、パラオにサプライを輸送していた船団がパラオの北隣のヘクスでSS Sharkに襲撃され、xAK Clyde Maruが沈没しました。xAK Clyde Maruには夜のフェーズで魚雷が一本命中しましたが沈まず、すでにパラオの隣まで来ているからこのまま沈まずに済むだろうと思っていたら、昼のフェーズでとどめを刺されてしまいました。先日の珊瑚海海戦の甚大な被害は不用意な用兵が原因で致し方ないと感じていますが、こう潜水艦の跳梁が続くと中の人の士気に影響大です。WitP AEばかりやってると精神衛生上よろしくないので、スカイリムでもやろうかという気分になるんですよね。
そんな中、今日は久しぶりに吉報がありました。昨日、重慶の飛行場の規模が5に拡大されたという報告がありました。この時期は中国軍のサプライ状況は潤沢ではないはずですが、それでも飛行場の規模を拡張するのは戦略的意味があってのこと。そう考えて、今日は漢口から重慶への爆撃を実施してみました。中国占領地における日本側最大の飛行場は漢口で、規模9にまで拡張しました。またaviation supportも250分隊以上駐屯させているので、漢口で活動できる飛行隊の数に制限はありません。漢口・重慶間は距離11ヘクスと遠いので、3波に分かれての攻撃となりましたが、合計156機の九七重爆(Ki-21-IIa SallyとKi-21-Ic Sally)が投弾に成功しました。
当初の目論見としては、飛行場に被害を与えてさらなる拡張を妨害し、いくらかでもサプライを破壊できればいいなと思っての作戦でした。重慶への爆撃はしばらく実施していなかったためかCAPは上がっていませんでした。また、重慶には予想以上に多数の連合軍機が集結していて、かなり多くの連合軍機を破壊できたようです。Trackerによると地上での破壊31機で、うちC-47 Skytrainが14機とDC-3が8機だったそうです。これら輸送機によるヒマラヤhump越えのサプライ空輸作戦が中国軍の活動のかなりの部分をカバーしているはずなので、輸送機の破壊はとてもラッキーでした。
ヒマラヤ越えのサプライ空輸作戦は連合軍にとってかなり重要だと思われますが、中国雲南省の保山・昆明やビルマのレドはビルマ中部から日本陸軍の爆撃機がこまめに爆撃していているので、安全ではないと連合軍側は判断して輸送機を重慶に集めていたのでしょう。たしか、Pick Up Troopsを指示して対象の部隊の空輸が終わると、かわりにサプライを空輸してくれる仕様でしたよね。そうすれば、重慶の輸送機でインドから中国へサプライを運んで来れますよね。
現在の中国戦線の状況はお示ししたとおりです。中国戦線の目標は、史実の一号作戦を早めに実施して大陸打通をはかることだと以前のエントリーに書いたことがあります。このゲームでもそれを目指して活動してきたつもりですが、長沙以南の鉄道線は防御側に有利なヘクスばかりなので攻略できていません。開戦後間もなくの時期に華北・華中ではなく、この南側を優先すべきだったかと反省しています。数的に優勢な側が有利な地形で防御している現状では、このラインでの対峙がせいいっぱいです。とりあえず、この状態でも香港に陸揚げしたfuel, oil, resourceが上海まで陸上輸送されていってくれるので、よしとしましょう。しかし昭和18年以降は太平洋戦線だけでなく中国でもかなり攻勢をかけられそうな予感です。

別のシナリオを連合軍側で起動して、ポート・スタンレーへの航路のマップ内外の接続ヘクスを調べてみると、表のようになりました。ポート・スタンレーには艦船がいなくて、ポート・スタンレーからマップ上の根拠地への接続ヘクスは調べることができず、西行きと東行きの船団が同じヘクスを経由すると断定はできませんが、このあたりのヘクスを巡廻パトロールさせれば出会うこともあるでしょう。
