ビルマでsweepと爆撃の応酬


昭和17年7月30日、久しぶりにビルマでsweep対CAPの空戦と昼間の堂々とした爆撃がありました。日本側で7月1日から生産の始まったKi-44-IIa Tojoですが、1ヶ月経過してようやく2個戦隊を機種変換させることができました。この2個戦隊をつかってビルマ中部のMagweからチッタゴンにsweepをしかけました。このゲームのハウスルールでは”planes max operating altitude is the band with their 2nd highest mnvr rating”ということになっているので、Ki-44-IIa Tojoはその限度いっぱいの高度30000フィートでsweepしてみました。合計66機の二式戦が三波に分かれて攻撃し、二式戦は被撃墜6、Ops loss 1の合計7機の損失。Trackerによると、Hurricane IIc Tropが被撃墜10、Ops loss 2の合計12機、P-40E Warhawkが被撃墜8、Ops loss 2の合計10機で、CAPの方の損失機数はぜんぶで22機でした。二式戦は期待の新機種で、3対1のスコアはその期待を裏切らない戦果でした。
今後もこれを続けることができるといいなと思いながら気分よくリプレイをみていると、連合軍が17機のBlenheim IV、12機のHudson IIIa x 12、16機のWellington Icでマンダレーに爆撃を実行。マンダレーには一式戦が配備されていましたが、これはMagweからレドや中国へ爆撃する時に護衛させるためのもので、CAPは上げていなかったのです。そのせいで、Airbase hits 12、Airbase supply hits 12、Runway hits 45と飛行場自体が大きなダメージを受けるとともに一式戦が9機、百式司偵が4機、地上で破壊されてしまいました。昭和17年の夏ともなるとこちらの思い通りにばかりはいきませんね。司偵は仕方がないとしても、サプライの状況が改善してきていたので、一式戦はMagweに移しておくべきでした。
