昭和17年9月30日、前日に多数の陸軍機が撃墜されたインパール飛行場に32機の百式重爆(Ki-49-IIa Helen)が夜間空襲を行いました。月明62%で天候は雷雨と条件が悪く、3波に分かれてしまいました。CAPはいませんでしたが、命中した250kg爆弾は2発のみでしたが、たくさん駐機しているとみえて、地上のP-40K Warhawk 5機に損傷、1機を破壊できました。本当はもっと大きな戦果を期待していたんですけど。
昼間、漢口から一式戦(Ki-43-Ic Oscar)44機の護衛で九七重爆(Ki-21-IIa Sally)54機と百式重爆(Ki-49-IIa Helen)44機が出撃し、久しぶりに中国の重慶飛行場を爆撃しました。重慶飛行場には飛行場のアイコンがついていますが、前日の偵察でも今日の偵察でも、飛行機の数が表示されません。飛べる機体は重慶にはいないはずだと思うのですが、15機のP-43A-1 Lancerと6機のP-66 VanguardがCAPしていました。きっと安全な成都に配置してある戦闘機のLRCAPなんでしょう。重慶は漢口から12ヘクスで一式戦の護衛で爆撃できますが、成都は14ヘクスあるので届かないのです。連合軍は前日のインパールの空戦の再現を狙ったのでしょうが、今日は護衛の一式戦が頑張って、一式戦6機損失、CAP5機損失のスコアでした。第2波の九七重爆15機には護衛の戦闘機が着かなかったのですが、さいわい爆撃機は1機も撃墜されずに済みました。合計でAirbase hits 2、Airbase supply hits 2、Runway hits 17の戦果です。中国戦線での飛行場爆撃は、飛行場自体というよりもサプライの破壊を狙ったものなので、ちょっと物足りない成績でした。

と、相手の潜水艦の名前もSS Finbackと報告しいます。攻撃した敵潜が船級名ではなく個艦名で表示されている時には命中していると言う噂ですが、どうなんでしょう。このゲームで個艦名入りの敵船攻撃報告は初めてですが、ASWスキルが70に達したパイロットが増えてきているので、今後はもっと期待できるのでしょう。
昭和17年夏になってから、日本の潜水艦はぱっとしません。今日は久しぶりに、シドニー東方沖でI-171がTK Herborgを撃沈しました。8150トンと中型のタンカーですが充分に満足です。
