昭和17年11月20日、11月16日のマンダレーとラバウルへの空襲以来4日ぶりに、四発爆撃機主体の夜間空襲がありました。四発爆撃機が主体の空襲でも、日本側がCAPさせている根拠地を目標とすると、多数機が揃って出撃しないとCAPによる被害が無視できないのだと思います。しっかり修理をして良いコンディションの機体を揃えて空襲するにはこのくらいの間隔が必要なのでしょう。
ビルマ戦線ではマグエに11波69機がやってきました。69機で11波というのは細切れ過ぎですが、非公式ベータパッチ07をあててから同じようにfragmentationが著しくなったという報告が、ベータパッチのスレやFragmentation in Public Beta 1119aというスレに寄せられています。B-17E Fortress 24機、B-24D Liberator 24機、B-25C Mitchell 21機を迎撃したのは二式戦(Ki-44-IIa Tojo) 16機と二式複戦(Ki-45 KAIa Nick) 13機です。この2機種ともマグエ配備の機体で、隣のメイクテーラなどでCAPを指示されている機体は迎撃に参加していませんでした。CAPの奮戦で、Airbase hits 5、Runway hits 7、地上で二式戦・二式複戦各1機破壊と地上の被害はそれほど大きくはありませんでした。しかし、二式戦は7機(A2Aで5機、Ops loss 2機)、二式複戦は(A2Aで5機、Ops loss 1機)とやはりCAPに多数の被害がでました。爆撃機の方はB-25C MitchellがA2Aで1機撃墜されただけです。
ニューギニア戦線ではホーランディアに3波24機の夜間空襲。17機のゼロ戦(A6M3b Zero)が迎撃し、空戦でゼロ戦に9機(A2A 5機、Ops loss 4機)の被害。Airbase hits 5、Runway hits 5と命中弾も多くはなかったのですが、地上でもゼロ戦(A6M3b Zero)は3機破壊されてしまいました。夜間空襲は本当に厳しい。連合軍の四発爆撃機の数がまだそんなに多くはないので、今のところは4日おきていどで済んでいます。しかしだんだんと補充されてゆく爆撃機をちっとも落とすことができていないので、数が増えれば連日の夜間空襲になってゆくんでしょう。昭和18年が思いやられます。
ニューギニア中部南岸のMeraukeに2日前から連合軍の貨物船の存在が報告されています。Meraukeには9月18日にCVEを主体とするコンボイがやってきて、ダーウィンからの一式陸攻の爆撃で損害を与えて以来、ずっと動きがありませんでした。ニューギニア東部の制圧が一段落して休養中なので、今度はこちらに飛行場の建設や整備にあたる部隊を揚陸し、ゆくゆくはホーランディアやダーウィンを制圧する拠点にするつもりかなと思います。Meraukeはダーウィンからの距離が13ヘクスと、ゼロ戦(A6M2)や一式戦(Ki-43-IIa)の護衛で一式陸攻が雷撃できる距離なのですが飛んでくれません。9月のダーウィンからの船団攻撃の時に一式陸攻は爆装でした。その後ダーウィンにAir HQを移動させましたが、連合軍はその存在を知っているのかどうか。もし知らないのだとしたら、こんな小さなコンボイ相手に雷撃して、Air HQの存在を暴露してしまうのはもったいない気もします。ダーウィンのバーチャル基地司令も同じように考えているのかもしれません。そう考えて、クーパンの近くでASWをしていた駆逐艦初風と夏潮をMeraukeにむかわせてみることにしました。機雷が敷設されていないといいのですが。
どうも機雷恐怖症になっています。数日前からスマトラ島東岸のメダンの南側のヘクスに連合軍潜水艦が張りついています。メダンで原油を積載したタンカーがまっすぐシンガポールに向かうときに通過するヘクスです。また機雷を敷設されたのではと心配になり、AMcを派遣して掃海させていました。そうしたら機雷ではなく、SS Trustyの雷撃でAMc Karimo Maruに魚雷が一本命中し沈没してしまいました。機雷の敷設されそうなヘクスをAMcにパトロールさせる作戦もやり過ぎで、やはり機雷の存在が発見されてから掃海すべきなんでしょうかね。でも触雷するのが1隻ならいいけど、一晩で5隻も触雷するほどこのゲームの機雷はいかれてるしね。なんとも手のうちようがない感じ。
ASWの貴重な手駒である択捉級海防艦第一号のE Etorofuが今日横須賀に配備されました。Reluctant Admiral modでは素のグランドキャンペーンより択捉級海防艦の登場が多少はやめられているのと、急速建造を指示していたので11月中に就役することができました。多数の二式爆雷を搭載し、素のグランドキャンペーンではASWに猛威を振るってSuper Eと呼ばれている海防艦ですが、DaBaes modやそれにならったこのRA modでは修正というかnerfされています。それでも、このところ連合軍の潜水艦には悩まされっぱなしですから、働いてくれることを期待しています。E Etorofuの艦長のLT Inamura ZさんはNaval 40, Aggress 55と期待の船にはふさわしくないひとなので、交代してもらいました。
